Weekend lane restrictions for Moon and Neville roads, including I-79, have been scheduled.

Lane restrictions on I-79 in Neville and Robinson townships will occur Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.

Single-lane restrictions in both directions on I-79 between the Neville Island Bridge and the Crafton/Moon Run (Exit 60) interchange will occur from 5 a.m. Saturday continuously through 5 p.m. Sunday. Crews from Bronder Technical Services will conduct construction work for an overhead sign structure.

Lane restrictions on the Route 51 (Stoops Ferry Road) bridge in Moon Township will occur Friday night through Monday morning, weather permitting.

Single-lane alternating traffic controlled by flaggers will occur from 7 p.m. Friday continuously through 6 a.m. Monday at the bridge at the intersection with Flaugherty Run Road. According to PennDOT, crews will conduct pre-drilling operations and pile driving work.

Additional weekend work is scheduled to occur September 13-16. Details will be provided prior to work beginning.

The work is part of the $3.54 million bridge replacement project, which also includes bridge widening with a new left turn lane, a new traffic signal, curb and sidewalk improvements, concrete reconstruction, and roadway resurfacing. The roadway and intersection work will utilize long-term phased construction maintaining two lanes of traffic, off-peak lane restrictions and three weekends of single-lane restrictions.

Joseph B. Fay Company is the prime contractor. The overall project is anticipated to be completed in late October.
