Friday, December 21, 2018 | 3:05 PM

Special events will be happening Saturday and Sunday with Mary Poppins Returns, playing at the nonprofit Tull Family Theater, 418 Walnut St., Sewickley.

The film, starring Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, will be featured in a low-sensory screening on Saturday, Dec. 22, at  11 a.m. This screening will offer one of the season’s most anticipated films to children and families impacted by autism and special needs. Inside the screening room, lights will remain on, volume will be lowered and other adaptations will be made for a welcoming inclusive screening.

On Sunday, Dec. 23, in conjunction with  2:15 and 5:00 p.m. screenings of Mary Poppins Returns, cast members from the Quaker Valley Middle School production of Mary Poppins, which is being staged in January, will perform songs from the musical and welcome patrons.

Already nominated for four Golden Globes, the film has been chosen by the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute as a Top 10 film of 2018.  Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, another Golden Globe nominee, will be screened as well.
