Sewickley Civic Garden Council is happy to sponsor a speaker at the Edgeworth Club.

All are invited to attend a talk given by the Allegheny Land Trust at the Edgeworth Club ballroom on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Allegheny Land Trust, a Sewickley-based, non-profit, conservation organization has been “helping local people save local land” in Allegheny County for 25 years.  ALT has now protected over 2,400 acres in 27 municipalities around the County helping to protect our region’s scenic beauty, provide close to home outdoor recreation, clean our air and water, mitigate flooding and landslides, and contribute to the overall quality of life of residents.  And, they believe that their work has only just begun.

Tom Dougherty will discuss how the region continues to lose green space at an alarming rate despite flat to slow population growth making a case for urgent action.
Doors open at 9:45 am.
