The event was held Aug. 25 at Sewickley Heights Golf Club. We had 200 guests who mingled throughout the entire second floor and patio to taste a smorgasbord of delicious appetizers, main dishes and desserts.

Our cooks were primarily from Sewickley (some from Greater Pittsburgh) and included executives, business owners, pastors and community leaders.

Distinguished cooks included: Dr. Paul Sczabolcs, physician specializing in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, and Chief of the Division of Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapies at Children’s Hospital; David Sculley, former CEO of H.J. Heinz; Wayne Murphy, former mayor of Edgeworth Borough; Sewickley community leaders Sylvia Dallas, Carolyn and Bud Smith (pictured), Mary Louise Fowkes, Tom DeFazio, and many others. See www.samaritancounseling.net/our-fabulous-cooks for all cooks and bios.

More than $35,000 was raised, benefiting people in need of hope and healing who seek treatment at Samaritan Counseling — main headquarters in Sewickley. Our primary sponsor was Dollar Bank.
