“The Powerful Secret to Dissolve Stress and Create Your Best Holiday Season Ever,” a free workshop, will be presented by Sharon Eakes from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 3 in the Sewickley Public Library Community Room.
While many people look forward to the holidays, they can be stressful. Eakes, a board certified coach, says it’s common to feel irritated at the emotional roller coaster of holiday planning and interacting. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the tasks and all the things involved with having a meaningful holiday.
This workshop is designed to help participants focus more on who they want to be during the holidays than what they want to do. Attendees will learn how to stay calm; generate and hold positive, loving energy; look forward to seeing “difficult” family members; choose gifts with a different mindset; and laugh with family members and generate treasured memories instead of getting annoyed.
Eakes says the knowledge gained in the workshop can be applied to all parts of life, including work.
Eakes is a Sewickley resident who coaches people who want more out of their lives.
She has led workshops all over the U.S. and Canada, and has written several books. Eakes and her California colleague, Nancy Smyth, formed their company, Two Wise Women, in 2015.
“We help people become who they aspire to be,” Eakes says.
