Sewickley library hosts research study, census recruitment session

Children’s programs

• Lego Club for kindergarten through fifth grade will meet from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 7. No registration required.

• Sensory time for babies and toddlers, with a caregiver, will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Jan. 8.

• Family Yoga will be held from 11 to 11:45 p.m. Jan. 10. Bring a yoga mat or beach towel and wear comfortable clothing. Family program.

• Chess Club for kindergarten through fifth grade will meet from 2 to 3 p.m. Jan. 12. All skill levels are welcome.

Teen programs for grades 6-12

• The ExtravaganzART 2020 youth arts and crafts show will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 11. Sign up for a free spot to sell your pieces. Visit the library’s website to register.

• Anime Club will meet from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Jan. 7. Newcomers are welcome. No registration required.

• Gaming Wednesday will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Jan. 8. No registration required.

• The Cook It program, for all skill levels, will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Jan. 9. No registration required.

Adult programs

• An All of Us Pennsylvania research study will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 9. Those interested in participating should visit joinallofuspa.org or call 800-664-0480 to schedule a time slot.

• A Reiki session will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 10.

• A United States Census 2020 recruitment session will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Jan. 12. Stop by the lobby to learn about becoming a census worker.

• The Adult Knitting Club meets from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 7. All skill levels are welcome. An experienced knitter will be available for help during the session.

• Jeanne Zell leads the Write Now program from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Friday.

• Sahaja Meditation takes place from 11 a.m. to noon every Saturday. Newcomers are welcome.

• Conversation Salon will meet for coffee and discussion during a program from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 8.

• The French Conversation group, led by native speaker Anne-Marie Salih, will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. Jan. 8. The group is for those with a basic knowledge of the language. No registration required.

Story times

• The library hosts a family story time at Ohio Township Nature Center from 10 to 10:45 a.m. every Monday. No registration required.

• Stories for 2’s and 3’s will be held from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and again from 10:30 to 11 a.m. every Wednesday. For ages 2-3, with an adult.

• Preschool story time for ages 312-5 without a caregiver will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. and again from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. every Thursday.

• Babies and Books, for children up to 24 months with a caregiver, will take place from 9:30 to 10 a.m., 10:30 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
