Sewickley Academy students received a special holiday treat Wednesday as a performer from the Hip Hop Nutcracker stopped by to teach some dance moves to a group of seventh- and eighth-graders.

Brandon Ron, 24, a Hawaii native currently residing in Los Angeles, plays a piece of chocolate in the show, which is a modern reimagination of the Tchaikovsky classic.

Ron spent about an hour with the music class students, teaching them a routine and taking questions.

The Hip Hop Nutcracker made a stop at Pittsburgh’s Benedum Center for two shows this week, last night and this evening, before it moves on its next two performances in New Jersey.
