Quaker Valley School Board approved the hiring of Mike Lewis as director of student services on May 14.

Lewis joins the district after serving as director of curriculum at the Beaver Valley Intermediate Unit 27. Lewis has served in several roles at South Side Area School District including elementary principal, director of special education and assistant superintendent.

Lewis earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education from Slippery Rock University, a master’s degree in education, and k-12 principals certification from the University of Pittsburgh, and a superintendent’s letter of eligibility from California University of Pennsylvania.

He will join the district in June, filling the role of Dr. Sally Hoover, who is retiring in August after more than 20 years at Quaker Valley.
