Through May 18, the public can vote Amelia for the Kid’s Public Choice winner .

The 26 finalists were chosen from more than 1,000 stories received from children.

All stories from finalists will be available to read and listen to on WQED’s Writers Contest page .

Winners will be announced at the Winners Celebration on May 19 at WQED’s Fred Rogers Studio in Oakland. Students will be awarded prizes including the opportunity to record their winning story.

Their recordings will be broadcast on iQKidsRadio.org and featured on Saturday Light Brigade Radio in the summer.

Winners’ stories also will be made into an original puppet play which will be performed at the Celebration by Pittsburgh Puppet Works.
