Hello, Sewickley!

Looking to participate in a fun activity for a good cause this weekend?

On Saturday, Sweetwater Center for the Arts is sponsoring two wet clay open studio sessions in support of an Empty Bowls fundraising event, hosted by Just Harvest and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Anyone can attend the sessions and help in the fight against hunger by producing bowls to donate to the fundraiser.

A Sweetwater instructor will be on hand to assist those with no prior experience, and both wheel throwing and hand building options will be available. All finished bowls will be donated to JustHarvest.

Session 1 will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Session 2 is 2 to 4 p.m. Cost is $3 for members and $5 for non-members.

Register online or call 412-741-4405.

Also, just a reminder there’s a regular Sewickley Borough Council meeting this evening at 7 p.m. at the municipal building, 601 Thorn St.

Have a great day!
