Thursday was a cold, frosty morning in the Sewickley Valley and across the region, with temperatures at sunrise ranging from 27 degrees in Butler to 34 degrees in West Mifflin, according to the National Weather Service’s Moon office. By 9 a.m. it was 36 and sunny in Sewickley. The dry weather isn’t supposed to last, according to forecasters, who predict rain, possibly mixing with snow Friday and then gusty winds Friday night into Saturday morning.
