Animal Friends waives adoption fees because of abundance of cats

Those looking to add a furry friend to the family should head to Animal Friends this weekend, when all requested adoption donations will be waived.

The Ohio Township facility says it’s filled to capacity because of an extremely active kitten season and the recent rescue of 31 cats from a single residence. And, while Animal Friends is seeing cat and kitten adoptions daily, it still isn’t enough.

In an effort to showcase their adoptable cats and kittens (along with the resident dogs and rabbits) they’re hosting a priceless adoption event this weekend.

The “Treat Yourself” adoption event will run from 11 a.m. Friday until 5 p.m. Sunday.

Animal Friends’ 75-acre campus cares for more than 2,600 homeless pets and provides about 1,200 spay/neuter surgeries annually.

The facility is located at 526 Camp Horne Road. For more information, click here or call 412-847-7002.
